Anna Murray

Anna Murray is an energetic and charismatic artist who excels in ground acrobatics, but often finds herself onstage performing and supporting a wide variety of acts. She has trained in many forms from a young age, including gymnastics, aerobics, trampolining, cheerleading and tumbling, dance, and at the age of 19, found circus. In pursuit of technical training, Anna began auditioning for numerous dance and circus courses but only knew that she had truly found her calling after discovering she had gained entry to the National Institute of Circus Arts.

At NICA Anna specialised in hand-balancing and aerial ring. She graduated from NICA with her Bachelor of Circus Arts in 2013. In 2014 she completed a 6 month contract as a contortionist, hand-balancer and aerial ring artist on-board Celebrity Cruises. In 2015 she performed internationally with 'Forklift' by award-winning physical theatre company KAGE.

In 2015 Anna decided to pursue a dream of becoming an acrobatic base. She found a flyer, an ex-gymnast called Rachael Boyd and they began training together. Shortly afterward they joined forces with several other NICA graduate female artists, Olivia Watts, Alyssa Moore and Josie Wardrope. The group enterted and won the Gasworks Circus Showdown competition in 2015.

The group’s momentum snowballed, and in September 2016, they premiered the first season of their full length show at Melbourne Fringe Festival. Anna was awarded "Best Emerging Circus Artist" by the festival and the team decided to keep working together: TEOC Circus was born. TEOC Circus has since enjoyed success touring to festivals around Australia.

Anna has worked in many areas of the performing arts industry, as an artist, producer, performer, teacher and trainer. She has performed at numerous festivals and events, as well as for many corporate clients (including Volkswagon, Ferrari, Lululemon Athletic, Crown Casino and Samsonite).

Anna Murray is curious, she loves to talk to people and learn. She strongly believes that you only start to age when you stop learning, and she doesn't plan on ever being old.
