Emma Shepherd

Emma fell in love with Circus and has been chasing her obsession of becoming artists since the age of nine. She began her career as a diverse performer for the much-loved youth troupe, Flipside Circus.

After acquiring a variety of skills including various aerial apparatuses, hula hoops and tumbling, together with an impressive performing repertoire, Emma left Brisbane in order to pursue and further study her passion for circus at NICA. Emma graduated in 2011, specialising in aerial net, hula hoops, hoop diving and acrobatics.

The National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA)

In 2012, Emma, along with two other NICA graduates Tayo Wilson, and Jess Niven, performed in The Exhibitionists, an international ensemble of emerging circus artists who presented outdoor circus installations as part of the cultural program of the Olympic Games.

Emma has also performed at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, The Brisbane Powerhouse and Woodford Folk Festival. Emma aims impress and entertain audiences around the globe. Her wide range of experience in variety circus makes Emma an excellent performer and her professional approach to all things related to physical theatre is enriched by her passion and love for the art.
