George le Couteur

Producer and Performer, Sydney.

George’s love of play and daring has led him into the world of circus. Formally trained at CircoArts (New Zealand, 2 years) he has been a permanent member of Circus Quirkus for eight years, touring through Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to combining forces with Lil Tulloch, George has toured with the David Castle Project and The Great Australian Jumping Circus. George’s personal pursuits led him to be a co-founder of The Ice Cream Factory an independent venue in the heart of Brisbane that provided a performance platform for the rogue and independent performer (2011-2013). He has worked regularly for the larger corporate market including The Star Casino, NSW Premier’s Harmony Dinner, The Australian Turf Club, Barangaroo and The Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority.

George Le Couteur and Lil Tulloch founded their own production company. For the last few years they have been steadily building a circus hub in the circus wasteland that is Sydney. They have established an independent studio space and performance venue, as well as produced independent theatre works, roving interactive theatre and large scale performances for the commercial and corporate market.

Recently they have performed internationally through Europe, launched and produced two new shows, “The Boy Who Was Born With a Moustache” and “Dear Delphine; letters from a Dead Voodoo Queen” (Melbourne Fringe Festival 2016), toured New Zealand with Circus Quirkus (2011 -2016), performed at The Western Australian Circus Festival (2016), had a resident contract at The Star Casino (2016), and performed at The Mullumbimby Circus Festival (2015).
