Sam Hyrckow

Initially a graduate of Ballarat Academy of Performing Arts, Sam went on to study English Literature at Melbourne University before heading to New Zealand to take on a Diploma in New Circus at Christchurch Polytechnic. In the early 2000s Sam graduated among the first intake of students at the newly formed National Institute of Circus Arts.

Upon graduation, Sam garnered a two year contract with Circus Royale in Geelong. Following this, Sam went on to become a regular act in many festivals including The Melbourne International Comedy Festival from 2008 through to 2013, and a variety of street theatre festivals. Other regular appearances were off-shore on the P&O cruise line, as part of the Comedy Wave Festival. Sam performed on board alongside acts such as comedians Tom Gleeson and Mikey Robbins. Internationally, Sam performed on the Princess Royal Caribbean and the Holland America.

The National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA)

In 2012 Sam began working overseas in Europe, primarily in Germany. Sam performed across die Straβen and les rues of Europe as well as appearing in many festivals, including The Glastonbury Festival (UK), Festival Fantastica (Germany), as well as multiple appearances at Berlin Lacht (Germany), Landshut Festival (Germany), and Wurzberg Straβe Festival (Germany).

Sam returned to Australia in 2017 with his wife and three children, and is continuing to work on the streets and in the theatres of Melbourne Australia.
